41 dead in Pakistan Swat Valley blast

41 people were killed and more than 45 injured in a blast at a security forces checkpoint in northwest Pakistan. The blast in Shangla — in the heart of the troubled Swat Valley, the latest in a string of attacks, follows a militant attack on Pakistan’s army HQ in Rawalpindi, that left 14 military personnel and civilians dead and killed nine militants.
